Seasons's Greetings! 2025 highlights included improvements on our ObieHome, visiting with friends and family, art showings around the world, celebrating birthdays and marriages, and grand Summer adventures!

We started off the year wrapping up our holiday visit with Eli’s parents in North Carolina, sharing our gumbo and beignet New Year's Eve Tradition, and Eli visiting friend Aaron in Arlington, VA on the way back home. We also celebrated Tirzah’s 33rd birthday! Eli had work performed in Norway and in February the semester at Oberlin kicked off with a Faculty Recital, Eli's first as a tenure-track professor!

For Valentine’s Day we went swing dancing with friends, and in April we made our way back to Greenville, NC to celebrate Eli's Mom Tracy's 70th birthday!

We began our Summer travels with a visit to Boston to stay with Eli's Aunt Fay and Uncle Cary during a conference at Berklee and MIT, seeing friends Max, Kramer, and Allegra! Afterwards, Eli headed to NYC solo for a conference, and explored the sights and sounds of Manhattan.

In July, we celebrated the marriage of Tirzah's friends Katelynn and Sarah, Eli’s 34th birthday, and then journeyed to the Umbria region of Italy for Eli's Cousin Zoë and Ashley's wedding. In Italy we enjoyed time with family by the pool and sightseeing in Perugia, Assisi, Spello, Orvieto, and Rasiglia! We also got to see the touring choir that cousin Jem directed in Cascia and say hello to cousin Karen and James.

Late Summer included a solo trip for Eli to Prague to see long-time collaborators Mika and Jukka. Eli had work in Helsinki Design Week, a world-renowned week-long design festival, and we decked our finest medieval garb for Fantasy Weekend at the Ohio Renaissance Festival!

In the Fall, we celebrated our sixth anniversary in a cabin nestled in the woods with a tiny herd of highland cows! Tirzah had an outdoor solo show titled Liminal Creep in Akron, and also showed in multiple group shows this year: Please Don't Go, Sh'bang Fest, and the FAVA Member's Show. Tirzah also got into full swing of demolition work on the house in preparation for our floors to be refinished.

Following up on construction of our new front porch, in November we had the lovely white oak floors in our house refinished, staying with gracious friends Mike and Dana, Aurie and Steve, and John and Josie during the refinishing. Additionally, we had electrical work done to set up Tirzah's new kiln in the garage!

Tirzah's family, including the Boyce's (Felicia, Kevin, Ava, and Nolan) and Tirzah's Mom Debbie came to visit for a Thanksgiving feast and to explore Cleveland. Despite the freezing weather we made it out to a wild mini golfing experience, West Side Market for tasty treats, seeing Lake Erie with winter lake surfers, as well as a few Christmas Markets.

During the year Eli gave invited lectures at Oberlin and Notre Dame, and received a number of grants, including one for audio field recording in Ireland and England in March 2026! Eli also won the Prix CIME Residency award, which includes a residency in electronic music studios in Zürich, Switzerland this coming year!

Due to layoffs, Tirzah will be leaving her position as Gallery Director at FAVA after six years. She had a lovely sendoff organized by friends Mary and Linda with open studio members, artists, and friends! In the new year, Tirzah will be establishing an LLC for her studio practice, as well as a small non-profit dedicated to hosting events and building community for local makers. If you'd like to support Tirzah in these future endeavors you can make a

In 2026 we're looking forward to traveling to new places, visiting with friends and family, and making the most of a new year of possibilities!
